The InforBIO system is a tool for such biological data processing with OTUs (operational taxonomic units) as: design of database; storage and retrieval of data; numerical analysis; phylogenetic analysis; discriminative and probabilistic identification. The system can import biological data encoded as eXtensible Markup Language (XML) documents as formatted text documents and tab-deliminated text files. The database can be also exported as documents formatted with XML or tab-deliminated text. Users can retrieve data from the database by keyword searches, edit data, and process data with InforBIO. In addition, information in the InforBIO database can be analyzed seamlessly with seven different software programs, including programs for numerical and sequence analyses.
